Psychological Evaluation

Gain a deeper understanding of how your child thinks, feels, and engages with the world around them. Our comprehensive evaluations offer meaningful insights and practical guidance to support your child’s growth and success.

Why Seek a Professional Evaluation?

Understanding your child’s development, learning style, and emotional needs early on can make a meaningful difference in their success and well-being. A professional evaluation provides families with:

  • Insight into how your child processes information and learns

  • Research-based understanding of developmental trends

  • Clarity around areas of strength to encourage growth

  • Identification of difficulties that may benefit from additional support

  • Actionable recommendations for both home and school

  • Documentation to support requests for educational services or accommodations

  • Reassurance through expert assessment and clear next steps

  • Opportunities for early, targeted interventions that foster better outcomes

Our evaluations help uncover the underlying reasons for academic or behavioral concerns, empowering families with the tools to support their child’s development confidently.

What Our Assessments Explore

Behavioral Observations

We examine how your child responds and adapts across different settings to better understand their emotional regulation, attention, and self-expression.

Academic and Functional Learning

Our evaluations highlight areas where your child may benefit from additional academic or practical support, helping identify specific learning needs and strengths.

Social Communication and Skills

We assess how your child engages with others— including peers, teachers, and caregivers— to inform strategies that support positive relationship-building and social confidence.

Emotional Health

Emotional resilience plays a vital role in a child’s growth. Our assessment include careful attention to mood, coping skills, and overall emotional well-being.

At our practice, we use a team-based approach to ensure a thorough and supportive experience.

Your assessment will be conducted by a group of highly trained clinicians specializing in psychological testing, including Dr. Leona Kashersky, PsyD, and our advanced doctoral-level assessment team members under her supervision. This team approach allows us to provide comprehensive, high-quality evaluations that draw from diverse expertise.

Comprehensive Psychological Assessment Overview

Our ASD evaluations are typically part of a Comprehensive Psychological Assessment, which includes interviews, standardized testing, review of records, and a detailed written report with feedback and tailored recommendations.

Fee Structure (Effective January 1, 2025):

  • Ages 0–5: $3,000

  • Ages 6–17: $3,800

  • Ages 18 and older: $5,300

  • If a Learning Disability Assessment is needed, it is an additional $1,500

Insurance Coverage

If we are in-network with your insurance, this typically covers in-person appointments, such as intake sessions and testing days.

However, other components of the assessment—such as test scoring, data analysis, interpretation, and the written report—require pre-authorization. We strongly encourage you to begin that authorization process with your insurance provider as early as possible to minimize out-of-pocket expenses.

We’re happy to support you in this process and can provide any documentation needed to assist with authorization requests.
