Your Guide

  • Leona Kashersky

    Psychedelic Psychotherapist and Psychologist

  • Dr. Leona Kashersky, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Wisdom Institute who brings over two decades of experience in trauma-informed care to her work as a retreat facilitator. Her retreats are designed as immersive, transformative experiences that integrate evidence-based psychology with embodied, experiential healing practices.

Dr. Kashersky specializes in trauma-focused therapies including EMDR, somatic approaches, mindfulness-based interventions, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. In the retreat setting, she thoughtfully weaves these modalities into group process, guided experiential exercises, movement practices, and reflective integration work. Participants benefit from a carefully held container that balances clinical sophistication with warmth, creativity, and depth.

Her facilitation style is grounded, attuned, and integrative. Drawing from her background in somatic work, trauma-focused movement, yoga, meditation, and expressive practices, she creates experiences that help participants reconnect with their bodies, access insight, process unresolved emotional material, and cultivate resilience. Retreat experiences may include guided imagery, structured journaling, relational exercises, nervous system regulation skills, trauma-informed movement, and reflective group dialogue.

  • As a seasoned clinician and Training Director, Dr. Kashersky brings a strong ethical foundation and psychological safety to retreat spaces. She is skilled at navigating complex emotional material within a group setting while maintaining clarity, containment, and individualized attention. Her experience conducting psychological and neurological evaluations deepens her capacity to recognize diverse learning styles, neurodiversity, and trauma presentations, allowing her to tailor retreat experiences to meet participants where they are.

Dr. Kashersky earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Alliant International University and has cultivated an integrative lens informed by years of meditation, dance, yoga, and contemplative practice. This synthesis of science and soul is the hallmark of her retreat work.

Participants in Wisdom Institute retreats can expect a thoughtfully structured journey that honors both psychological depth and embodied healing—an experience designed not only for insight, but for sustainable transformation.
